Privacy Policy

Dogs Boutique is the controller for all the personal information we process, unless otherwise stated. Any queries regarding the data Dogs Boutique stores about you or any complaints about the way your data has been handled can be sent to humans@dogsboutique.co.uk or to the ICO (Information Commissioners Office).

All of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have made an order.
  • You have made an information request to us.
  • You subscribe to our e-newsletter.

Your personal data is stored electronically and is password protected.
Personal data is stored electronically in accordance with the ICO retention schedule.
We will not share your information with any third parties. In some circumstances we are legally obliged to share information e.g. under a court order.
Where we provide links to websites of other organisations, this privacy notice does not cover how that organisation processes personal information. We encourage you to read the privacy notices on the other websites you visit.

Under data protection law, you have rights we need to make you aware of. The rights available to you depend on our reason for processing your information.

Your right of access
You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. This right always applies. There are some exemptions, which means you may not always receive all the information we process i.e. information we store regarding your dog is not considered personal data and may not be presented.

Your right to rectification
You have the right to ask us to rectify information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete. This right always applies. 

Your right to erasure
You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. If a current customer asks Dogs Boutique to erase their personal data it will be assumed that they wish to have their account removed (if appropriate) and any existing orders will also be cancelled and refunded.

Your right to restriction of processing
You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your information in certain circumstances. You can read more about this right here.

Your right to object to processing
You have the right to object to processing if we are able to process your information because the process forms part of our public tasks, or is in our legitimate interests. You can read more about this right here. 

Your right to data portability
This only applies to information you have given us. You have the right to ask that we transfer the information you gave us from one organisation to another, or give it to you. The right only applies if we are processing information based on your consent or under, or in talks about entering into a contract and the processing is automated. 

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. We have one month to respond to you.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a review, the review and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
